To celebrate the end of Mell Square Shopping Centre’s free family activity days, the centre is hosting a super fun finale on Thursday 23rd August 2012. The Summer activity days have seen youngsters become sports superstars at the community sports day, enjoy special moments with rabbits, chicks and ponies during the animal adventure day and take part in swashbuckling antics at the pirate island day, plus having fun on the man-made beach.
After three weeks of fun with over 30 activities for the young and young at heart to enjoy, the centre is bringing families together for the final time for a Summer extravaganza, with activities taking place between 11:00am and 3:00pm.
Highlights for the day include Mr Alexander’s captivating blend of magic, juggling, unicycling, balance and illusion, with the show reminiscent of the Variety Shows of years ago. From the spectacular and gravity-defying three chair balance to his fascinating linking ring routine, the show guarantees to amuse, entertain and delight all who watch. Performances will be taking place from 12 noon.
Youngsters will also be able to enjoy close encounters with creepy crawlies, from millipedes to scorpions and tarantulas. Birds of prey will be paying a flying visit to the centre, so visitors will get the chance to see and learn more about falcons, hawks and owls. Workshops to promote healthy lifestyles, including giant board games and fresh fruit and vegetable cocktails are sure to keep all the family entertained. Expert face painters will also be on hand to create masterpieces, plus fun rides including a train, tea-cups and go karts will keep the youngster occupied.
