Set in the middle of Brueton Park, on the edge of Solihull Town Centre, the Parkridge Centre and its 5.5 acre nature area offer a tranquil setting for environmental education and information, plus a wide variety of nature conservation events and activities throughout the year.
Nature on your doorstep
A whole variety of birds including robins, blackbird, blue tits, great tits, tree creepers, nuthatches, chaffinches and squirrels by the bucketful. On our lake coots, and moorhens, mallards, tufted ducks, a regular heron - oh and a terrapin.

Special trees include giant redwoods from west cost of America, iron wood tree from the Middle East, black walnut, paper hanky trees, maples and some fine mature oak trees.

Bugs - slugs and snails, ground beetles, millipedes and centipedes.

Pond creatures - water boatmen, pond skaters, leeches, diving beetles, ramshorn snails, damselfly nymphs and mayfly nymphs.

Education, information and events


We offer a varied programme of activities and events throughout the year, whatever the weather. Ranging from wildlife workshops and themed 'Really Wild' birthday parties for children, to talks and guided walks for adults. Take a look in our Events Guide and you'll be spoilt for choice!

Children have a great opportunity to enjoy our 'Nuts about Nature' Club on the 2nd Saturday of the month for a morning of Wildlife Exploration and for the younger ones, our fun and friendly Toddlers Trundle group runs every Wednesday morning during term time.

The purpose built classroom provides environmental education opportunities for schools and colleges. The Trust works closely with schools to provide quality activities linked to the National Curriculum.

There's also a host of interactive displays so little fingers can find out more about their environment and local nature and a number of fun trails to guide you round the nature area looking for trees, birds and other exciting features.


The Dragonfly Tea Room


Ideal for a morning coffee, lunch or afternoon tea, the Dragonfly Tea Room offers an extensive quality menu at value prices. Choose from home made cakes, brimming baked potatoes, delicious soups, fresh sandwiches or enticing paninis. Enquiries for groups and parties welcome.

Where there's a great choice of environmental products for everyday use. Be sure to pick up your wild bird seed, children's toys and gift ideas at really competitive prices.


Play area


A fun and exciting adventure playground for children of all ages to enjoy is available 7 days a week.


Geology Trail


The Geology Trail tells us all about the rocks that have made up our area as it has evolved over the years. Solihull and Warwickshire have certainly changed a little over the last few million years!
