Birmingham Airport

Birmingham Airport is in the heart of Solihull and every year handles over ten million visitors flying both within the UK and to all over the world.

It’s celebrated its 70th Anniversary and since its first ever flight in May 1939, the Airport has grown from strength to strength to become the Midlands gateway to the world.  Now more than 35 million people are within a two hour drive of the Airport.

Access to the airport is simplicity itself. Being at the heart of one of the most accessible Boroughs in the United Kingdom means your journey will be relaxing and simple. The airport is well served by motorways, train, coach, bus and taxi and even has segregated bicycle routes from local hotels and towns.  Many of the largest global car rental firms operate from the airport.

The airport offers thousands of car parking spaces and many of the local hotels offer ‘stay and fly’ deals to ease your journey.  There are rail links direct to the airport and to the town centre and and taxis are easily available.  Transfers to local attractions and accommodation are very reasonable.

Many forget the local attractions that can be visited whilst waiting for your flight. Solihull Town Centre is only a few minutes away on the 966 bus route, giving you the chance to experience the Touchwood Shopping Centre, with the only John Lewis in the West Midlands.
